Many processing techniques related to the elongation flow behaviour cannot be determined from shear experiments. However, this patented Rheotens series from GÖTTFERT utilizes a melt tensile testing technique that is highly reproducible and sensitive. It can also differentiate even polymer melts which shows differences in molecular structures. All these are not able to be detected with other analytical methods.
